Full coverage insurance costs
How much should full coverage insurance on a 03 C320 cost for someone 29 years old with a clean record? I've been quoted at $900+ by State Farm. This that high?

there are lots of way to get lower insurance. have multiple cars, a good record, other insurance like home, lifre or jewelry threw the same company, always pay your bills on time and it always helps to be good friends with your agent, they can give you a little discount if they like you.
just to let you know, im 21 and have a ticket or two. i have a 2001 c320 tricked out with rims, exhaust, and a few other little mods and i pay less than $600 every six months.

im with state farm. they are pretty good and usually very helpful if i ever have any questions. i havent ever had to file a claim yet (knock on my woodgrain) and hope not to any time soon, so i dont have any first hand experience in that respect.

Wow! Can't believe I'm 29, you're 21, and I'm getting a higher insurance rate even though I have no record!
What other things do you have with them? Are you able to get that low because of where you live or other insurances you've bought with them?

Oggle,
In California, your rate depends on your age, marital status, driving experience, driving record, type of car, insurance coverages, annual milage, business use and zip code, to name a few. You should start by talking to an insurance broker, who can quote you on rates from different companies. Also, Mercury Insurance is competitive for the younger driver. You can get a quote from them at Mercury Insurance .
You can't fairly compare rates in dfferent states and situations.

I pay $600 for 6 months for two cars. When I get my Benz it will go up $10. My wife is 22 and I am 29 and it is her policy. It dropped when she hit 21 and the more when we got married.

again it'll be nice to know company, type of coverage, age (thanks i know most if not all have that info). I'm saying this b/c I can go out and get a cheapo/liability insurance from a no name company for the sake of just having insurance but when u really need it u're $crewed. I have Safeco Lloyds, full coverage $250 deductible and rental insurance (I believe my theft is covered for traveling to Mexico as well), and I'm 22 clean record+prompt payment. Cant wait for 25/26 so I can get my Porsche

Awaiting a new arrival...
I can share this for comparison...
Insurance Provider: Farmers
Locale: Columbus, Ohio
Record: Clean, no claims, no accidents
Marital Status: Married
Age: 32
2001 ML320 Sport - $1080/yr
2002 C230 - $1150/yr
I think I am paying too much.

I also have my home owner policy with Farmers, too. That dropped my rates between 10-20%, so it helped, but I left State Farm years ago due to no benefit to having multiple policies. When I redid my homeowners through Farmers, my homeowner policy went up 75% and I got the discount on the cars, so it actually equaled itself out.
For a clean record in a decent part of town with 12 miles a day average commute, it seems high to me, based on other numbers I am seeing. Maybe its just me...

I have my coverage via Farmers...full coverage - rental; glass; age - 37; single; one car; $240 deductible....total = $740 per 6 months...it went up this past year from $500 because of an accident/no other tickets. Rates here in AZ are notoriously high. I also have discount from Farmers, because of having auto and home through them like slcvr6.
Another thing that insurance companites have been doing is rating your risk from your credit history. Saw a news special on TV that reported that a woman had her rates double because of a so-so credit history. She had a clean driving record also.

Mine is for a Saturn SL1 2001 and a 2000 Neon. Both with full collision and rental, towing. $600 for six months with a $500 deductable and $500,000 injury clauses. Ir is through Allstate in York, PA. I am 29 and my wife is 22 both with clean records. It was her plan before we married and I was added. Also only goes up $10 for the C230k addition and dropping the Neon.
