Exclamation ::_2005 c320 coupe ( coolant info )_::

First off I want to thank this forum for its great info.

I've been searching for a while now and I still haven't gotten any answers respectively.

On my mother's car a 2005 c320 coupe, the coolant level low message came on and she freaked and called me up. I said hold on, let me check the forums. So from what I read the coolant and windshield washer fluid sensors or some sort of related to eachother and sometimes when the windshield washer fluid is low it will throw the coolant level low as well. As soon as she gets home Ill have that filled to see if it works.

My question is this, if it doesn't work, what coolant should I buy? and does anyone have a bently manual that can tell me where the coolant plugs are on? I know my bmw's and audi's by memory but I have no clue on my mothers car, she use to have a 2004 c230 coupe as well but got rid of it.

These two cars never give problems, this is actually the first little iffy its had.

any info would be much appreciated! thanks!

Since ur car is 2005, there should be warranty in there still, wouldn't warranty cover that kinda stuff? especially if you did regular service to MB dealership, they should've changed the coolant for u in appropiate time

Yes, there is warranty but they told my mom it was 365 dollars or something near to it, everytime she goes in for service. her service is coming up soon, and I will mention it to the SA, but for now I was wondering what a simple fix can be. I guess Ill just have to wait for her to get home.

But ill ask the dealer.

Update

Yes guys,

I wanted to confirm that as soon as I put fluid into the windshield washer compartment ( it had a little still ), I filled her up and no more message.

Thanks for your help!

I guess the sensor is related....

I get separate readings...so not sure what's up with that.

Next time you're at the dealer,
be sure to pick up some windshield wiper fluid concentrate.
It really works great, and its like 2 bucks a bottle.
Mix it with distilled water and you'll avoid any hardwater marks.

The 365 is likely what you have to authorize in case it's not a warranty issue. If it is a warranty issue you pay nothing.

Try another dealer if possible.
Local dealers where I live, one is like that, want me to authorize
like 1.5 hours for diagnosis in case it's not covered.
But I went to another dealer (Autobahn in Belmont)
and they didn't make me sign for anything....maybe 50 bucks or something.

Also Smythe couldn't tell me what was covered or not.
I had to look it up myself, take the brochure in and show them, as they were telling me it wasn't covered. I showed them the ppwk where it said it was covered. OH says my SA. It's their freakin' job to know, dumasses.
So don't really on them. Check the ppwk that came with the warranty.

PS Is your Mom's 2005 C320 a manual or auto tranny?
Pics!!!

I was talking about the regular service, oil and fluids and brakes and blah blah blah. The regular service is 365 or close to it. Thats what my mom has always paid after she let go of her 04. Every MB after 05 to my understanding doesn't have maintence included unless they purchased a package. The SA my mom uses has been with her since day 1, im talking about a 190 e 2.6 1993 black on black, lol Hes a cool guy and always flamed me for buying an m3 and telling me its slow. But Ill review the stuff with my mom and make her aware whats covered. I believe niether of us ever read it.

umm Next time I wash it ( as I always do ), Ill post pics, before the 04 was blue, now the 05 is peuter or however you spell it. I think its a horrible color but hey... my mom is happy and didn't want a sedan.
