Why the overpricing?
Hello all, I am thinking about purchasing a C230 Kompressor and I was looking at an 04 with 41k on the clock. They want 22,600 for it but when I check the book value it's like 21,000. Why do they have it up over book value? Is this normal practice? The vehicle is very clean and from a local dealership. You guys have any purchasing tips or things I should consider? Thanks in advance. Hope to see you all around.

That seems like a pretty high price...especially, with 41k...I got my 03 c240 w/ 45k on it for under 17k unless its completely loaded up you should be able to talk them down quite a bit. Other's on here have more experience w/ buying, and will be able to give you more advice...but I'm basing my opinion on my purchase. Good luck.
Edit: and actually, the sticker for my car back in January said $22,000. I had a crappy blazer and got $1000 for it, so I was able to talk them down quite a bit, and they also were trying very hard to move it...

Are you kidding? How else do they pay for the multi-million dollar buildings and for each sales person to drive a free E-class? They want to sell it for as much as they can possibly get.
Glad you see your doing your home work and realizing the price is high.
Good luck on the purchase!

I think you should buy this, too bad it's so far away.

But if you are going for a 2004 C230,
a 2005 wouldn't be any more and they made a bunch of improvements that year, interior, styling, suspension, brakes everything, but with same drivetrain.
There must be 50 of 'em FS on ebay
