A/C not working?
It's been getting colder in the Bay Area the past few days.
Please correct me if I am not doing this right:
I set the two temperature dials between 72 and 80 F. (76 F)
I pressed the AUTO button.
After doing this, It seems like only cool air is blowing into the passenger cabin. Shouldn't the air blowing from the vents be very warm? The only way I can get really warm air is to set the temperature dials at the maximum 80 F. Is there something wrong with my A/C?

Try pushing the recirculate button. This will close the outside air door. You might simply have too much fresh air coming in that is at a chilly temperature. Set to only 76, the heater core simply cannot heat the volume of air coming in through the filter above the battery.

The outside air is only 60F though. How could the A/C system be unable to cope, as you suggest?
The air coming out of the vents is warm when the temperature dials are set at 80F, so I don't think that is the correct diagnosis.
