Low humming at 1200 rpm?

Low humming at 1200 rpm?
Hello,
My W203 2.2 CDI A is keeping relatively loud subwoofer sound (50-100Hz) when rpm is about 1200-1500. What makes it even more weird, this is not happening every time driving the car but only sometimes the car gets into "humming mode" (once in a week).??? But when the mode is on it allways has the humming at 1200rpm. Normaly next morning the mode is gone and the hum comes back suddenly after some days.
Is it me head or my mercedes doing it

I found out that consumption is higher while the car is humming. Normally it is about 6-6.5 l/100km but 7.8-8 when this loud humming is on.
I also noticed that when pushing gas pedal slowly over this 1000-1500 rpm range, there is a spot where rpm:s are not rising even though pedal is sliding down. This test was done with warm engine and car parked.
Could somebody make a quess about the source of noice?

Humming?
I got the same problem. I have allso registrated that if I stop the car, take out the key, restart, everything is ok.
To me it seams like it could be something with the fuel control. My car is aut. and the engine speed is lowered on all gears when the humming appears.
