Warning, where NOT to buy autoparts.

I've seen people recommend various sources for parts around here, and
my recent experience with sourcing an O2 sensor I learned some things.

The sites listed as autopartswarehouse.com , alloemparts.com racepages.com etc. are all fronts for the same crooked company.
I've seen people recommend them here, but what I found is that if you have a problem you're screwed. And they lie like hell.

Check the epinions site for all the people who've been ripped off and frustrated by these scammers.
http://www.epinions.com/content_315088670340
Here's the Better Biz bureau's site.....606 complaints filed!
http://www.trenton.bbb.org/nis/newse...21000011004229

I came soooo close to ordering my O2 sensor from them,
glad I didn't.

In the end I found a site I had used last year, and had good luck with,
which has no complaints on the BBB site. Took me a while to find them, sifting through all the sites that are related to the same messed up company, especially since my pc died and I lost all my bookmarks.

I managed to get the CORRECT before catalyst Bosch 16272 02 Sensor
for a mere $113 dollars, with no tax, and get FREE overnight shipping!

I don't how that happened, as they advertise free ground shipping on orders over 50 bucks, but when the check out came up all the shipping options were free. I was a little reluctant to take the free ON, that they might add monies on later, but I have the receipt. And I had ordered coil packs from them last year, got exactly what I ordered and it was only 10 bucks to get it 2nd day, but it ended up coming overnight! Way cool! And they give you rebates towards your next order.
I got an extra 75 cents off from my last order...not much but what the heck. autopartsworld.com is the best.

I ordered yesterday around 12 noon. It shipped same day (3pm eastern) from SC. The UPS guy was at my door 9am! I was concerned it might not be the right one, since I couldn't find the Bosch number (from the bosch site) of 16272 anywhere in the online ad, but sure enough it's on the box.
It's the right one, including the connector, for 113 including ON shipping.
Awesome. Kragen was over 200, same with Duval.
Smtyhe? Who cares. Probably $300.

I feel for people who can't do their own work at all.

I've been getting the smell of unburned fuel lately...hope this helps, and my mileage too. According to the bosch site, it's a 100K lifespan.
I have 113K, and the clogged cat likely cooked it.

I just ordered from autopartswarehouse.com and the O2 sensor they sent was the wrong one. This is the first problem I have had with them. But they didnt give me to much of a run around. The only problem is they didnt end up covering the return shipping of the wrong part. SO if that is there policy I will not be ordering from them anymore. I paid $113 with free two day shipping, just was the wrong part. I bet yours came from the same warehouse out of Carson California. Most just drop ship from the same place now days. I will try ordering the next one from your source if you say you got the right one.

I just checked my order and the O2 sensor they sent me was the 16272 and it is the wrong one. It has a round plug with only about a foot of wire. The one I need has about 2 1/2 feet of wire and a T shaped plug. I hope you got the right one.

Bosch has a site that allows you to look up PN's.
http://www.boschautoparts.com/Resour...clePartFinder/

My part shipped from SC, same as the location of the company, which is good, no sales tax. I know because of the tracking. It was packed and shipped within an hour of the order.

All I can say is reading the horror stories over and over, I felt I should let people know.
Actually I just checked....16272 is the correct before catalyst sensor according to Bosch for 2004 c230. After is 16268. Is that the one you were after?

Well, what the Epinions site says is that getting the RMA, and refund can take many phone calls, all the while reassuring you they'll deal with it, and wear people down. I'm quite certain I've ordered from them before, and and just glad I didn't have a problem.
Another place that seems good is Rock Auto but they didn't have it in stock and the estimated ship date was 2 weeks out.
I cancelled the order....they don't charge the CC till they ship, as it should be.

I installed it today....I'll find out if it makes any difference in mileage or performance tomorrow when I drive to the city (SF) for the "Hardly barely bluegrass" festival.
Wow, 5 stages, they completely close GG park, and it's not just Bluegrass....many acts....then it's off to an Octoberfest party in Los Gatos if I have any party left in me.

Did your wires go around and over the bell housing to the other side of the engine? Looks like I will have to go under the car to reach the plug? Mine is a 2004 to.
