2003 C230 sedan, oil change?
I searched the forum and did not find a specific thread on how to for the 2003 C230 sedan oil change.
I used to do basic maintenance on my other Japanese cars when I was younger. I have not done so in years. Now the kids are a little older, I have some free time. I am thinking of doing some basic maintenance so I feel good about doing it myself and to save some money.
I popped the hood this morning. I found the dipstick tube (without dipstick).
As I read on other threads,
1. Do I have to use a suction pump to pump out all the oil? Can I drain it?
2. Where is the oil filter?
3. I looked under the engine. It's covered and I did not see a drain plug.
Anyone?
Thanks.

It's all the same generally, all you need is to find where the filter is located in pics around here somewhere.
You can pump it out, I use the Shurflo Drill Pump/Oil Changer
that I bought online for 20 bucks. Then there's no crawling under the car.
Some people had trouble getting this work, mine worked perfect with a battery operated drill. Pump right into the recycle container that goes to the curb. No extra containers or mess. Very sweet.
You need to find where the dipstick tube is, since your car doesn't come with a dipstick. The M271 guys can help you with that. You might need a plug to go back in?
But it's all the same, remove oil either from top, or bottom (after removing covers), unscrew filter housing, replace filter, repeat in reverse order.

Why I'm searching the forum for you is beyond me...
You should have tried google.
2nd link from the top
This exactly what you want, but he's wrong when he says 2001-2005.
More like 2003-2005.

When I was looking under the hood the other day, I saw the screw for the oil filer. But I did not know what it is at the time.
Thanks again.
By the way, my local Mercedes only shop wants $100 for oil change. (San Gabriel, CA)
