I have the bordered grille for almost 2 years now, but I got the earlier version with the 4 slabs. Got mine from Performance Products for $499. (That was before I heard of mbworld, ebay grilles, and formymercedes.com). I probably wouldn't have spent as much though.

By the way I love every part of both grills. The white painted 4 slat one looks great!.....with the white car it's awesome. The 3 slat one with the border is pretty darn sweet. i'm loving every part of it, the grill, the painted border, the lip AND even the amg emblem. That's actually a nice place to put it. I was considering do that to the front lip of a mini cooper. Looks sweet. have you considered a gunmetal/pearl emblem? Let noticable, but still good. But the chrome has a good contrast to it. I like it. I think i'm the only one, but still loving the emblem there.

Simply gorgeous and graceful… Don’t mind the –ive comments we are envious. I just bought Mars Red 07 C230 AMG Trim and looking to upgrade the grille but can’t seem to find any grill that would look good with Red, however, the way your grill sits with the boarder I thing this is the only way to go for my car. I would be grateful if you could please let me know where to buy it.

Sorry but I vote a no for it (sorry to rain on your parade, you do have a nice car though)
My POV
1. Gaps are inconsistant and too large at the bottom. Looks like a home job to me or something Saturn would put out with huge gaps that are not symmetrical all the way around and from left to right
2. Painted frame looks too much of an add on, if this was on the production car we would be having a field day, a chrome frame works but something that is matching the car in colour screams aftermarket. Not sure why the frame is needed, I think that the fins would look better if they went edge to edge
3. The AMG badging in that place is a big no-no, AMG never places them there and looks like some of the mis-badged cars out them adding badges where they don't exist
4. I have a problem with the horizontal bars not being equal and consistant. I think it would look better if there were 3 with equal openings, the bottom chrome one to me throws it off.

Agree with what you said 100%, CL grills in non CL mercs look stupid, it appears to be something only those in North America and Asia do, I've never seen one on a merc in Europe.

How you liking the brakes? I must say, it is one of my favorite mods now. Stopping power is so great to have. They were awesome in the rain too! And it seems like the dirt/rust comes off that much easier having cross-drilled front and rear.
