Quote: LYJ: is your avatar really your pic?....or you just like her? nice white mercedes by the way.

Blood was all over my car when i found it after it got broken into. I walked to my parked car to see glass INSIDE the car. It was a messy cleanup. The next day on my way to the autobody shop to fix the window, I look over at the door and notice blood. EEEERRRRRRk, quick detour to the police station.

The cop wants to send out a police car to my house thinking it had been broken into there. When I told him the car was double parked outside, he walked out to take a report. After noticing it was just a smudge of blood and not a whole puddle, he shrugged and went back into the office to write something up. I never heard from them since.

WHAT TO DO:
While driving around, notice which streets have shattered glass on the curbside.....that all comes from break ins. Be warned and don't park there...ever.
Thank you and yes, that really IS me in the avatar.

And eww blood? That's gross ... instead of relying on the cops you should've just bought one of those CSI: DNA kits from Toys R Us and investigated yourself

Hey sorry about your window. Anyways you mentioned getting an alarm and i actually had an aftermarket one put on my car at the same time i got my kenwood navigation installed. - I figured a huge double din screen would look pretty appealing to a bunch of thieves.
Anyways the brand i have is the VIPER 5002, two way remote and apparently has a 1-mile range - as for my opinion so far on it, i think its decent but for the same price im sure u could find a better deal on another remote (also i think the one-mile range is overly exxagerated)

wow girl that sucks!!!!!!
that is usually my biggest worries when i leave my car in a parking lot, I always try to park the car in more traffic area and near a light, just so its seen form a distance.
but u are not the first one that i have head of, my friend has had his car broken into just so some F**** can seal the Coke bottle in the car. its crazy what ppl will do for something that worthless. but good to know the car it self was not damaged just a busted widow... non the less sorry for your loss.
i remember parking my car at the top side Metro-town parking lot and have someone try to steal my clear markers, luckily my friend saw this idiot picking at my car as he was walking towards the mall. and beat the S**** out of him... but he had already broken the clip and i had to order a new pair.

well anyways u should take better car of ur baby. dont be leaving it in some dark corner.

Quote: ughh I'm so mad, I just remember the security guard telling me apparantly, two asian guys "drove" by and saw my window smashed and they reported it. maybe I'm overthinking the situation but I find that so bs. I was standing 2 feet away from my car and i couldn't see anything, it was SO dark and rainy. for all i know, they could've been sitting somewhere watching me discover my broken window. sigh .. i dunno, maybe i'm just so mad that i need someone to put the blame on

I did not leave ANYTHING out in the open. I never do. Nothing much was stolen ... a lighter, some change, all my CD's, and my favorite pair of Fendi sunglasses but i guess it could've been worse. I'm lucky they didn't steal my remote to my garage and my insurance papers .. that would be BAD.

Quarters? It's incredible how low people can go.

I ended up paying it myself. Deductible was 300 and the bill was 350 so no point in going through ICBC. It happened at Metrotown right infront of Silvercity .. I always park underground but for some reason I parked outside that day. Bad choice =(
This is insane because I always park my car outside silvercity by McDonald whenever I go metrotown. People are too jealous because you have a nice car.

Unfortunately I wasn't as lucky as you .. no one there to catch my thief!

So it looks like I'm bringing my car in next Saturday to get the Compustar installed. It's 450 installed but if I pay an extra 50 bucks I could get the Auto Start plus a bunch of other features like proximity lock/unlock. However, my daddy doesn't want me to get the added features because he said I could start and unlock the car without even knowing .. and someone can just drive off

Should I get the added features or no?

Daddy's little girl, huh?...j/k.

Extra $50? Is there a way to manually make it active/non-active? If so, then I'd say it's worth it.

I can understand the concern, from your Dad's perspective. The thought of his little girl, in her MB, accidently activate auto start and then get mugged so a person could take off with her car or even worse, kidnap her with her car...God forbid/Knock on wood...I'm sure the thought has crossed his mind and that's not something he's willing to take a chance on. Your life and safety is worth limitless amounts of money to him, obviously. Sounds like a good parent to me.

How can the smartkey and auto start work together? I was under the impression it wouldn't work without bypassing the ECM and the ignition.

And my catalytic converter needed replacement also. Not important but you've mentioned it in your previous post.

I'm not working there anymore due too much work from school. I have two new sets of rims coming very soon. One is AMG for the winter and the other is some 3 piece forged wheels. I can't wait till they get here. I will take some pics when they arrive.
Btw, I saw your car last time when I was around Chinatown going to Aritzia warehouse for work. I like how your looks when is rolling. You definitely have a great car for a girl cause most girls in Vancouver know nothing about cars.

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse ....

I brought my car in to Mercedes this morning to fix my door actuator. An hour later the technician called and told me: someone cut open your airbag and would be about 1400 to fix my lock and airbag together. He also said it could blow up ANY TIME. Turns out speedy autoglass unneccessarily cut open my airbag and broke a bunch of tabs while they were replacing my window. Gee, how great is that?

Wow! Sorry to hear about that. Maybe you can get something in writing from MB and then have speedy autoglass cover the cost of the airbag expense. Explain to them what MB told you about the possibility of the air bag going off at anytime. Good thing MB discovered it now. It could have been a disaster had it gone off while driving.

might of missed if anyone else posted but they cant drive off with out the key, if its the promixy distance kind you have to be within a couple of feet. If not the key have to be in the ignition or it will shut off when you change gears and press brake.

Btw, your sig is awsome. Did you take that picture or is it photoshopped?
