Replacing Battery

I am trying to replace the battery on my C240/01. I took the cables off, but the battery would not come out. It seems like there is something holding it at the bottom. I would be thankfull if someone can provide the steps to get the battery out.

Thank you

The battery is clamped down. If it wasn't, it would be flying around your engine compartment with each fast stop/turn. Look at the back side of the bottom of the battery.

Check the sticky at the top of the thread list "list of faults that occur after disconnecting battery."

Thank you so much! I followed the instruction and all is fine now. One last thing, I did not buy the new battery from the dealer, I got it from Auto Zone, and the clamp in the bottom is not securing it the same way it did with the original battery. it's somehow movable... but I do not think it will cause issues. Am I Wrong in my thought? Should I find a way to secure it?

I replaced a battery once without the bracket because I lost one of the screws and it was fine for years (non-Benz), but I'm not sure how it would affect this car. If it feels OK, it probably is for a short time, but I would find a way to secure it. If it is movable, I think it would eventually cause stress on the terminals and wires.

Also, you should update your profile with your car type before people on this forum give you a hard time. Also a word of advice, you'll get pounded for asking questions for information that is already posted, so try the search function first.
