That sounds like a lot of custom job and it sounds like it will work. Besides, I wonder how much it will cost to replace the stock bypass valve, in case it doesn't work.

it wouldnt cost anything to replace the valve since you would not be destroying it. you would simply be removing the butterfly. if you wanted it back you could simply replace the screws and then pin them just like the original setup.
