How much shorter do you want it? It currently is a true short throw shifter, its not just a cut down version of the stock unit.

I asked a simple question... is there a short throw shifter ... NOT how do you adjust the arm rest. That followed up as a solution and I am not about to run out to my car and drudge up my manual to find out I can move the arm rest a quarter inch when that is not what I was concerned with in the first place.
90% of the time the manual reads like crap.

You stupid idiot! You addressed 2 concerns:
1. a shorter short shifter
2. arm rest sits too high
The answer to 1. is NO!
The answer to 2. is to read the ****ing manual, and manual is not hard to read. It's in simple and clear English.
IMO, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to adjust the arm rest especially if you've had the car for a year! This is such a joke! You don't even have to read the manual to figure it out. I bet a lab chimp can probably figure it out after a few tries. Want a banana?
