MBWorld Fanatic!
No, but anti-squeal paste is about $2 at Pep Boys, not a big ticket item. Don't know about any spray. I just refuse to buy anything from Jerry because he put the squeeze on Porterfield to not allow speedtoys.com to sell the front brake pads for $100. Call it price fixing, call it illegal, call it sour grapes, I just don't call him. So even if he was the only source for these pads I would still not buy from him.

Most people think that the noise of squealing pads is caused by the pad to rotor contact - not really true. What it is is vibration between the pad backing plate and the caliper piston.
Anti-squeal paste is designed to go between the pad backing plate and the caliper piston, and dampen the vibration.
If you are having trouble stopping the squeal, you might try a stick-on anti-squeal pad. This is a rubberized piece, it sticks to the back of the pad. It really helps for "tough to solve" squeal problems.
If you use the liquid (like CRC Anti-Squeal from Pep Boys, etc), put it on thick, and let it semi-dry (maybe 1/2 hour) before reinstalling on the car.
Porterfields do seem to have a tendency to squeal, but it can easily be overcome. It may take a few tries, but you can get them to be quiet.

pad replace
looking at replacing the my C230 coupe brake pads. Once the sensor wear indicator, indicates wear do the sensors also have to be replaced ( do the sensors wear?) Can any of the aftermarket brake pads use the wear sensor or only the original MB pads? Is it difficult to replace the pads, any pointers?
