2003 C230 loss in power/ acceleration...Plz help.

Hi Guys,

First of all I must say that this is a great site and you are all doing a admirable job by helping each other out.

I have a small problem, i own a 03 c230 comp coupe and I am starting to notice a loss in acceleration /power. It has 92 k on it, i recently changed the air filter and assumed it wud correct the problem but no luck. I also checked the sparked plugs they "look" fine to me but i guess it maybe time to replace them ( please advise). Last week i put in fuel injector cleaner with the tank full of gas in hope that it may help with that , i am at half tank now and dont notice any significant change. Please advise if its a common problem or they could be alot more to this and what are things that i shud be looking at. I would also apprecite if someone cud walk me through how to clean the maf. I tried it myself but i cudnot reach the maf.

Thank you guys in advance.

Ammar.

the MAF cleans itself every time the engine is started and stopped- however, theres an unconfirmed report that K&N style (oiled cotton gauze filters) air filters, when over oiled- can contaminate the maf sensor, causing all sorts of running malfunctions. did you put in a stock paper-stlye air filter or an oiled cotton gauze type?

chances are that your MAF needs to be cleaned or replaced.

There's another TSB talking about another hose though :\. I'm thinking it's a coil pack problem for the OP.

have you tried the tranny reset yet? If you haven't, just do a search. It takes roughly 3 minutes.
