Noise when gas pedal is pushed or released.

I have noticed that my car is making a weird noise everytime I press the pedal or release it. The noise sounds like you have inserted a plastic piece in a spinning wheel or the wheel of fortune if any of you watch price is right. I do not know how the gas pedal is linked to the engine but it seems that everytime I depress the pedal or release it, it engages/disengages some mechanism which is what is making the noise.
Any ideas what it could be?

Also, does anyone know how to tighten the AC compressor/fan belt?

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
The gas pedal is connected the engine electrically, via a Hall Effect
unit in the gas pedal.
Are you saying it's something in the engine when it's running that making a noise or the pedal itself?
You question is confusing.

I think it is the pedal itself as the noise seems to be coming from somewhere between the engine block and steering wheel well. It is definitely not mechanical noise and sounds like some electrical noise that lasts 2 seconds when the gas pedal is depressed and 2 seconds when it is released again. I didn't notice any sound when the car is stationary and gas pedal is pushed.

Hmmm....well, like i said, the pedal is electronic.
It functions sort of like a potentiometer but uses Hall Effect which is a measurement of a magnetic field, and essentially gets the same result in the end but in a different way, and with no actual electrical contact, no parts to wear out.
I posted some stuff and pics etc. in that Sprint Booster thread.

Are you feeling any push back or vibration from the pedal when you hear that sound ?

Question C300 2015 - Same wheel of fortune tik tik tik sound

C300 2015 - Same wheel of fortune tik tik tik sound
I have C300 2015 (50k miles) and I just recently noticed that I am getting this "Wheel of Fortune Tik Tik Tik)" sound - very low in volume everytime I press the gas pedal. Today my wife noticed the same and called me.
I have called the dealer as I purchased the extended warranty when I bought it back in Oct 2014. Lets see what they say, but knowing the dealer they would say oh its normal and its part of the car, but this kind of noise/sound was never there before.

I also had another issue which I am told its a known issue with C300 15 to 17s.
Check Engine light came up and this is what the dealer scanned it to.
VENT LINE, ECU and WIRE HARNESS - went bad and they placed an order - Back Order from Germany.

thanks
