Painting Grille
I have all the instructions on how to paint the grille, but i was wondering how to take the grille off, and after doing so,
1)how do you take off the star before you paint? do you just pull it off?
2) for the chrome finishes above and below the grille i understand i have to sand it down, how long should i sand for before i know i can paint over top of it and lets just say i want to sell my car in the future, im assuming its going to depreciate the value of the car *** well lol correct?
3) is primer necessary to paint the grille? what difference wil it make if i use/dont use it?
thanks guys

Sand it with very fine sand paper...you don't need much grit to take it down to the base plastic. Then prime it with an epoxy primer of the same or similar color as your desired color. Black primer for black paint...etc. Use several coats and let it dry completely before applying the next.
Finally, apply yout final color in several very light coats. I used a matte clear coat on mine and it's still holding up very well. Search this fine forum (STFF?) for my post titled "chipped tooth".
To remove the star, once you have the grille off, turn the star counter-clockwise to unsnap it from it's seated position, then pull away.
