successful Avic installation?

anyone have a complete DIY for a avic z2 install? w/ what i would need to do for the vss sensor.... after much research looks like most don't run this?

this is for the g/f's car so i don't want to have to fix it again later

if you get the Steering wheel control unit you dont have to worry about the VSS

just did a z2 install, the CA-R-PI.131 adapter generates a VSS, reverse and illumin. signal, as well as enabling your steering wheel controls. Makes the install a lot easier.

where did you buy yours?

looks like for her 2005 i need the one ending in a 133

........ also the guy at the dealer is telling me i need to bypass my amp or else i can't hear anything.... is this true?

for face lifted models (2005) you need the CA-R-PI.133, if you have the bose system you need to run new wires to the speakers.

yes if your car has HK or BOSE sound system u will have to bypass your AMP i expalined how to do it in the thread above.

YOu dont have to run wires to the Speakers but to the REar of the car where the AMP is then connect the wires to the Existing Speaker wires.
