First engine issue...need advise! Whining noise from pulley.

I have a high pitched whining noise coming from one of the front belt pulleys on my '06 C230. Just started a day or two ago best I can tell. Originaly I thought it was the transmission as the whine would change pitch with shifting gears, but tonight I opened the hood while the motor was running and I could tell easily that it was coming from one of the two pulleys on the left side as you look at the motor from the front. One is pretty small, say 3" dia, and the one below is maybe 5"-6" dia. Does not sound like a seezed bearing but more like a 6-71 blower on a big block Chevy, if you know what I mean. Any ideas of what it could be and if its critical to have it looked at. With the Holiday coming in two days and just starting a new job, there's no way I can get it to the dealer. Thanks!

Oh, and for the record the car has around 21,000 miles on it.

Went to the dealer this morning and they fixed the problem in about 45 minutes while I waited. It was an idler pully going bad which apparently is somewhat of a common problem on the C230 according to my Tech. They have a few parts in stock because of the numerous complaints. I'm surprised that no one else had had the problem. Covered under warranty no problem.
