Any real noticable changes in the engine between the 01 to 03 C320?

Are there any real changes to the engine between the 01,02 and 03 C320?

on MBUSA they list the:

2001 C320 at 215hp/229lb torque 3395 lbs

2002 C320 at 215hp/221lb torque 3450 lbs

2003 same as 02 (except 3430lbs for mannual) The mannual trans on the C must be really heavy, only 20lb difference between the auto.

Is the car getting weaker in the torque and heavier?
Isnt this what is happening to the C-coupe, the 01 have more horsepower...etc.

Why are they moving in a backward direction? Should newer cars have improved power and lighter (if possible).
