'02 C320 Lowered 19" Wheels Rubbing
I have spent a lot of time on these forums trying to gain some knowledge on how to stop my wheels from rubbing. I'm still in need of some assistance.
Lowered C320 with 235/35 in front 275/30 Rear. I've read that 265/30 should help with the rubbing so will soon be purchasing some. Now, fender rolling? Is that the key to stop the rubbing? Will it do the trick even though it's lowered a little? I have ruff racing 279 19"x8.5" front 9.5" Back.

I've also read about spacers but not sure what to get. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Its so embarrassing when people are in the car and every 30 seconds on the freeway the car rubs and makes a horrible noise.

rolling your fenders will help, but with a lowered W203, I am betting that 265's are still going to be a bit big. I ran 255s all the way around and still hit fender on big bumps

I threw 225/35 and 245/35 on my mom's C200 and no rubbing AT ALL..Her car has Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs, hmm IDK around 2 fingers all around..ET35F and 38R with the same size as yours..I'm not sure how low is your car.
And 275s are just too big for Cs..I'd buy smaller tires

I run 265 and only rub on heavy bumps, then then again, my car is drastically lowered. Im going to a 255 falken 452 stretched set up for the new season.

I rub my boxy 235s too, against the wheel covers tho, but that was when I uninstalled the wheel covers and installed em myself. Then, went to a shop, they installed my wheel covers properly and it's been all good.

I haven't had any issues with the front simply because the force is usually all transfered to the back over bumps if you know what i'm talking about. So would 255/30s be the best bet along with rolling the fender or get 265s? Whats the disadvantage of getting 255s?

It's rubbing on the outside of the tire. It seems like the wheel sticks out to far which is also why the front doesn't rub because the front is 8.5" and the back is 9.5". I believe my offset is 35. Can i fix this problem. I can never drive people in my car.

It was lowered when i bought it. I believe only 1.25". there is pretty much no gap at all when looking at the car level between the tire and the fender.

Is there anything you can do to get the wheel to sit more underneath the fender than sticking out a little so the outside of the wheel rubs on the fender. Like tucking it in a little? It seems like that would help as well as getting the 265s.

The only option would be to have the back of the wheel hub machined down to raise the offset, but even a few mm probably won't help enough to let you run 275's. Be careful cuz machining too much will cause rubbing on the suspension or inner part of the wheel well.

With my wheels, it appears that my wheel/tire are perfectly in line with the fender and not tucked, which means potential problems if I lower it too much...I'm going to maybe try some heat gun stuff come spring time to try and aleviate the rubbing on the covers, and just deal with the fact that I'll most likely have to use the sport suspension unless I got different wheels, which I'm not planning on doing....

I'm running 265s in the back and they rub a lot with the streets around here. Put someone in my back seat and forget about it, I'll rub driving on a flat road. I also have the same problem as Dan, my wheels are in line with the fender so I have a much less space to work with I'm thinking. Oh well, I was thinking about going with 18s and dropping my car anyways. Time to research/hunt for a good deal.

If i get the 265s and the tires still rub, I think I'll consider renting that fender rolling tool because I've heard from a lot of people with a similar setup as myself say that it worked for them.
