COMAND Radio updates?
The European M-B site says "The integrated dynamic route guidance using radio data can even change your route in order to bypass hold-ups." DOes anyone know if this service is actually available/functional in the US?

If you have a 2001+ model year vehicle equipped with COMAND you can subscribe for a fee to the enhanced services that COMAND offers. One of the services is "Route Avoidance" which will let you know of traffic conditions on your COMAND screen for the area you are traveling in.

Do you know which number I can call to find out more info of this "Route Avoidance" services. I'm quite interested to get this service if the fee is a reasonable one. Thanks !!

Call 1-800-FOR-MERC ... They will transfer you to the Teli-Aid people for more info. Be advised this service may not be available in all areas. Just dug out my Teli Aid subscription form. The "Optional Info Services" package (News, Stocks, Weather, Sports, Route Avoidance and Calendar Reminders) is an additional $125.00 a year (Ouch !) ...

Adam, Thanks for the info. I just pull out my teleaid paper and I saw the route assistance fee is $2.95 per route. Its kind of expansive. And yes, you are right about that $125 for the optional services that you need for the route assistance.
