C230 V6 K&N Part Number needed

I am trying to track down the part number for the K&N air filter for the 2006 C230. I am coming up with two different numbers. I am just trying to be sure I get the correct filter- NOT the one for the I-4 engine.

I just need 1x of part number 33-2181 correct (from K&N's site)? Some sites give me a different number and some sites say I need 2x of 33-2181.

K&N (as well as a few of the aftermarket supplier's sites) need to get it straight. I used their (K&N's) search- and it just says I need one. Another site I went to said I needed two- but it had a different part number listed.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to take off the plastic cover and have a look- compare measurements to what's listed on the K&N site. By the looks of things from the outside- it would have to be a panel filter- not a cone filter like a different site said.

well its obvious when you pop your hood you have two inlets and all V motor mb's are designed similiar.

i know there are two inlets- but i know of several cars (non MB) that have two inlets into a common airbox, right above the throttle body.

i'm not too familiar with MB engines of any kind- this is my first.

just struck me as odd that K&N stated you needed 2 filters for most every other engine that required two- but not the '06 C230

You need 2. I just put new K&N's in, and they're great so far.

I feel a slight difference in the feel; car breathes a lot easier, and it revs to 5-6k a helluva lot faster than with stock filters.
