2005 C230 Kompressor
No Sound even after firmware upgrade
I took my 2005 C230 kompressor in the dealer after having no sound on the Harmon Kardon stereo 4 times. Each time after the car set overnight the radio worked again. I read on various threads that I needed to do the firmware upgrade. Dealer did it and the very next day again no sound. Next morning sound was back.
Anyone had this problem? Should I make them give me a new amplifier?

From what I heard from a tech guy who helped me with my sound issue on the Harmon Kardon stereo, it's not an amp issue if power is going to the CD changer. If it simply doesn't recognize the CD changer, then it's a firmware issue that should help. For stuff like this, the best thing you can do is take it back to the dealer and keep a record that you've been there four times and they need to do something for you. be aggressive.

I took my car in when it was actually not working and they replaced the AMP for me. Symptom was no sound but everything else works like it should. CD, Radio, CD changer, AUX. The only thing I noticed was that the "Surround" option was missing. Sounds to me like that's more of a firmware issue but they said it was the AMP. It's been almost 3 weeks and no problem yet.

I have had 2 software updates, 3 head units replaced, 3 amps replaced and still have the same problem. Now I am getting a lemon law lawyer involved. Have you have any more problems with the radio? Do you have an ipod installed? I'm wondering if that's the problem?
