CF Difuser, also need opinions

Just stuck some cf looking vinyl on the rear, what do you think? I was hoping to match the cf front lip, but it's obviously not the real thing. Should I stick with plain black like a few others here have done? Sorry about the size, I can't figure out how to make the pictures larger.

There are so many awesome rides on this forum, I'd like to ask for some additional input. My next mod will be the roof, I was thinking about painting it black with a roof spoiler. If I do, should I stick with a matching black roof spoiler or a cf roof spoiler? Or should I leave the roof as it is and just add a color matched roof spoiler?

I know not everyone has the same taste, but my objective with the roof would be to give the illusion of a bigger car.
Thank you guys for all the help and Merry Christmas.

Thanks. A friend of mine just opened one of those car wrap shops, so I asked him to print me a strip of the cf pattern to try. If I do go with a black top, I'm considering using the same product if he can make it glossy enough. That way it's not permanent, if I want something different or when I sell it the buyer isn't stuck with what I like. I've tried to take this approach with all of the mods I've done.

That looks hot my friend. How much does he do it for? I know you probably got the hook up, but what is retail?

That looks great from the pics! Does the pattern actually resemble real CF? I'd love to see some super close up pics.

Thank you. He's just getting started, but I believe he is charging $10/sqft. The rolls of vinyl (or whatever that stuff is made of) are 4.5', so a 12" strip would be 4.5sqft = $45. But that price would not be cut to fit, that would be part of the install. The product is very easy to work with and very pliable, unlike some products that as soon as it makes contact with the surface it's stuck.

Thanks Blake, it's not bad looking up close. Of course there's no way to replicate the three dimensional look of true carbon fiber, but it's pretty close. For this application, it looks close enough, I'd think twice about using it somewhere that you can see up close like the door pillar or the roof like the new M3. The other cool thing is since it's printed, you can make it any color, not just gray scale. I'll get some close up pictures for you.

My digital camera doesn't really pick up all the basket weave that is printed, but this may give you some idea.

Thanks everyone. I do want to do something to the roof, but I think this may be stretching it, like I said you can tell a difference in person up close. However, what do you guys think about a black roof w/ real cf roof spoiler vs. black w/ black spoiler vs. just adding a color match spoiler and leaving the roof alone?

If I don't get a chance to chat again.
Merry Christmas,
Erin

From the picture it looks like the real deal to me. :dunno: For the roof, i think you should do the same thing + a CF spoiler or do black vinyal and black spoiler. I would do it but my car is already black and the CF wouldn't show up

I really like the black roof that I've seen on other cars and was curious if anyone has a carbon fiber roof spoiler and how it looks? Then again, I was wondering if keeping the roof and roof spoiler the color of the car, if that would give the illusion of a bigger car vs. black roof?

Anyone.......

Do you have pictures that you could post with the roof showing a bit? Maybe we can photoshop them to convince you to do a CF roof.

Here is a picture of the new M3 with the CF roof in a simlar color to yours.

I think it would look just like a black roof unless you're close by the car. It would looks good.

You're cracking me up Shake. I would love to have a cf roof, but the last thing I want my car to be called is "cheesy". And since I have a real cf front lip for people to compare it too, I'm just a little leary. The bottom of the rear bumper is a great location for this faux cf. Plus I really want a roof spoiler and there is no way I would be able to match the vinyl cf roof to the cf spoiler. Also, I don't know if it's possible to mix and match too much, like the black roof and a cf roof spoiler?

Here are the only pics I have with any roof showing.

Hey Shake, are the wheels in your sig actually darker or did you photoshop them? I noticed you did the same for my wheels in the second picture, any chance you could do that just on the spokes and leave the lip as is? I may consider wrapping the wheel spokes in that faux cf.

Thanks

Mine are photoshopped darker in my sig. Do you happen to have a side angle of the car?

Thanks, your exhaust looks great. How does the bumper look where it's cut out? Can you tell that much?
