GE extended warranty

GE extended warranty
are these worth while? I am looking at a used C230 with 35K and about
2 months of MB warranty left. This particular says the GE warranty covers
the exact same things the MB one does.

i guess if it helps you sleep better at night.... i purchased an aftermarket warranty for my car also.... and have yet to use it....
im not sure about the specifics about the GE war... but the mb factory warranty covers everything bumper to bumper....
other members may have to correct me.... but i beleive that the mb extended warranty is not the same as the factory.... its similar to most aftermarket warr covering only the motor and transmission...,,,
but... to answer your original questions.... its worth it if you end up having to use it.
id suggest you go to your local dealer and ask one of the SA if they could look up all repair work done to the car while under its current factory warranty.
all warr repairs done at any cert mb dealer should be linked to the vin and accessible by any mb dealer...
access the cars service history and make your decision...
-good luck

calling the dealer
I actually did that today, and my local MB dealer told me they couldnt
check info on a car not serviced there. I was like Anyways,
the car I am looking at is selling for 17K, and the GE for 2K. Still
not sure if I am going to take this or not, even though I can take
the car to ANY mechanic I want and have it be covered.

That's a good deal, 17K for a 46 month old C with 35K miles. Warranty for $2K is a waste of money but to each his own. If you don't want it, let me know, that's cheap enough to get my kid for a H.S. commute car.

yeah, it is a good deal, unless something major happens to a low
mileage car like some of the stories I see on this board, and it costs
a fortune to fix it. Our current C has been outstanding, and despite
it's age, it is still a beautiful and solid machine.
