You must remove the plastic under-floor covering to see the gas tank. It is located under the rear seat, ahead of the rear axle. If you are thinking about removing the tank, this is a fairly complex operation that includes removing the rear axle assembly. I would strongly recommend getting the official service manual before proceeding.
The tank has an access panel under your back seat. Remove the round panel to see the top of the fuel tank. You can access the fuel pump and sending unit through the panel. Put down some towels, since it will drip gasoline on the interior.
