Ok, I stumped people here with my power seat question. So lets try again.

To the right in the softkeys of the factory HU is a blinking LED. To me that indicates that if you have a power failure or R & R the HU it would need to be reset. Now in Europe, I do believe, they get the code card with their HU. This would then allow them to reset the HU and to get it working again. Here in the States I didn't get that.
DID ANYBODY GET THEIRS or will we have to go back to MB for a reset?

Well, I hope I am not going to look stupid in this however if the HU equals the radio (Audio 10 CD), the flashing red light I believe to be normal. I have two flashing red lights on my Benz, The HU flashes a red light (and I had the loop reset) so I believe this is normal. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Mine blinks as an indicator the alarm is on. I've heard ours dont need to be reset otherwise if you disconected the battery it would lock and it doesnt.

I believe Lockbuster is right HU- head unit so amdeutsch is refering to his radio.

The radio does not need a code if you disconnect the power. They are doing away with this completely. Only the cars with the older style radios still have this, like SLK's and CLK cab's and ML's. And the red light is just to show the alarm is armed I think.

so mb/becker audio 10 cd is okay too right? no code? b/c mine's straight from germany and got no paper/documentation what so ever.

Plug it in and play. No code, do not turn on the ignition until it is installed or you will not like the results.
