Zoomie's combined/merged question and request thread
1. How to engage Dyno Mode and what the hell is Dyno Mode anyway?
2. How to reset your ECU (after installing mods like K&N air filter)
- Hop into your car
- Insert and turn key to second position (radio/lights on, engine OFF).
- Press the gas pedal for 5 seconds.
- turn the key to off position and leave the key in there
- wait 2 minutes.
- pat yourself on the back. You're done.
Either my mind is playing games on me, or this ECU reset actually works. I had been driving with the K&N filter w/o resetting the ECU for at least 1000 miles. There was a good kick going in reverse, but otherwise changes to performance was minimal. Gas mileage improvement was 1mpg. I'm waiting to calculate any differences AFTER the ECU reset. Performance seems better..peppier. Little quicker around corners.
So for those who aren't so happy about your K&N or GReen filter, maybe you wanna try resetting the ECU to see if it does anything.

BTW all these features are great! and never even knew about them.
my mom came downstairs and asked me why the hell i kept going in
and out of the garage
. I guess the sensor is fine. Maybe a case of user-error yesterday :-D (Also just had thew batt. disconnected the day before that, maybe it had something to do with re-syncing?)
In my 06' I had to turn it to the 2nd pos. then back to the OFF pos. After that I turned it to 1st pos. And pressed my ODO reset button (3) times fast, (while the screen was set to miles driven (ODO)). After this I saw a screen displaying UDV: 12.3 (my batts voltage). Then you can fumble through the screens and see firmware and/or software revision numbers.. Mine had a completely seperate screen for my VIN # as well as engine model #'s. Turning dyno mode off is as easy as turning it on (just make sure you don't forget).
*EDIT* Although I never did find a screen for how many quarts/litres of oil are in my pan... Maybe I should of been counting dashes (hypens)?
