Well since you just upped the ante by stating you want to replace the HU as well ....... your stealer may actually be right in the fact that you will have to run new wiring at least. BTW these type of mod scenarios have been discussed several times already.

There are plenty of threads on this if you search. I will admit though that the search option is flaking out lately. I have tried digging up old part numbers and the search results come back incomplete.
Behind battery is a gromet with plugs in it. You pull a plug out and push your cable in from there. I had to force 4gauge through so I doubt you could go any lower without taking a rotary tool to it and widening it. There is a WONDERFUL but old thread, on how to take the passenger side panels off and run the cable. I remember using a torx head to undo underneath dash and the side panel. Door sills and center pillar were easy. Didn't need to take the seat out believe it or not... routed it under the carpet. Right into trunk. Grounding out is the bigger challenge. Use a sander and pick a good spot in trunk and make sure you have a nice connection. I did a write up long time ago but never posted... I'll look for it tonight when I get home. Hope that helps.

RAULTPEREZ: Didn't realize you were local. Are you trying to add subs only? or are you doing the whole system? Either way, let me know if ya got any questions....

Do You Have Subs or a Sound System?
Hey what's going on. I was just curious to see if any of you have subs in your C-Class. If you do, what kind of subs? Can you hook subs and an AMP to a stock radio or would it be better with an AVIC-Z1. When I get my taxes back I think I'm going to have my windows tinted. I won't have the money for an avic and subs for a while, but I'm just thinking ahead as to what I'd like to do. So leave me your thoughts if anyones got a nice system I'd like to see what you have.

Yeah, true - I need my trunk space, or rather just want it.
What's a good way to replace just the Bose speakers (2003 model), with some better, louder speakers? I'm assuming I'll need an amp as well? - Where can I hide it, don't want it sticking out in the trunk or anything...

Ok, I just went and took a picture for you. I only had my camera phone. It is too cold to go back out.
That's a 10" JL. Both my amps as well as my component boxes are all under there. I don't know why so many people kill their whole trunk with those big boxes. Maybe they want to keep their spare.
