what size bulbs are reverse lights? cant find anywhere search or manual. thanks.
SubscribeHi all...after nice tint (35%-20-20%) its a bit hard to see at nite when backing out of the drive way and I was wondering if its possible to change out the reverse lights to something brighter (dont really care about color and stuff but something brighter that wont melt plastic or throw errors on computer). Any suggestion or has anyone done it? Thanks.

My C240 owner's manual clearly documents this - hard to believe it wouldn't also be true of the coupe's manual.
In any case, in the sedan it is a P 21watt bulb [32 candlepower]. I would bet almost anything that it is the same in the coupe.
Incidentally, this is the same bulb used for the stoplight.

I changed mine to just a regular single filament bulb. My friend put in hyper whites and he can really see very well when he backs up.

The coupe manual was not very clear on that so the bulb is called P? park? parking? is that MB name or universal name? any more details? thanksOriginally posted by jrct9454

The PIAAs still use the stock wattage and hence aren't really any brighter. They just appear to be since they're whiter. In reality they actually put out less light than the stock bulbs due to a filter which filters out the yellow wavelength in the spectrum. Of course this filter tends to catch other wavelengths as well.
I'd recommend DesignTech's 50 watt halogens. This was one of the first things that I did to my C (and other cars), and it has made a tremendous difference.
