don't do it Gary! your lips are clearcoated, not bare metal.
scotch-brite pads and metal polish will only scratch your clearcoat and make it look dull.
try some clearcoat safe wheel cleaner, then apply a coat of wheel wax to shine a bit.

No clearcoat FTW! I never understood why some wheel manufacturers apply clearcoat over polished surfaces. Over time, the clearcoat gets messed up no matter what and you can't repolish the lips (as shown in this thread) unless you remove the clear coat.

i agree blake, oh btw robert- seal the lips with something like zoop seal, i was forced to take the benz out in a snowstorm a few weeks ago and im basically back to square one and have to re-do the whole process...oh well this time around i might consider painting the lips black and time attacking them..who knows lol
