I did a search and could not find what the answer to my question. I have a 2002 C230 K Coupe and last night on my way home (dusk) I got an error message asking me to check the RH low beam. Of course it is out, the high beam works but the low beam is completely out. My question is - can i replace the bulb or do I have to replace the complete headlamp unit? I know this sounds like a noob question, but I took off the back cover yesterday and it did not look like just the lamp comes out.

you can just replace the bulb do a search and it'll tell you what bulbs you need or you can just go to sylvannia.com or however you spell it and they'll tell you which bulbs you need. you might as well change both and go with hyper white ones g luck


your manuel will also tell you which bulb you need for what

THe lamp should just come out. I doubt you have to replace the whole assembly. Hop into your dealer and speak directly to a tech and ask him how to do it. HOpefully he won't go to the front desk and charge you. Bring the bulb.

No dont even go to the dealer. Lol. They'll charge you just for looking at it

I just replaced mine yesterday with some sylvania. Just go to autozone and buy the H755w bulbs. they're like $20/per bulb. You can replace it yourself. Simple DIY.

Just replaced both heads with H755's. Thank for answering a noob's question. Now if I can only find a good source for the 05 tails I will be all set.

Can somebody help with an Issue I have for my headlamp high/low beam lamp. The car is used and today when I went to replace the lamp there appeared to be no locking ring/device installed (both sides) and the lamp was held in with the 2 screws!!!! What I would like to know is what was originally installed to help lock the lamp in place?
