C-Coupe parts in Chrysler Crossfire

If the report below is correct it would seem that the new Crossfire has a lot of C-Coupe in it. It also seems that DaimlerChrysler has a six-speed manual that works with the 3.2 V6. It would be nice if the six-speed would be available in the C-series Mercedes V6s.

click on the "Detroit Motor Show" above the crossfire picture on the left, and then on the "Chrysler crossfire" above the thumbnail picture in the middle left.

As you can see the inside looks like a brighlty painted SLK - same dashboard, same centre console etc - this article mentions C Class coupe, the Autocar article says SLK, and the pictures show an SLK interior

I guess only time will tell what mechanical platform it uses ...

Doesnt the rear-end picture look like an Audi TT !!!

personally, i think its ok to share parts, but i don't know if the crossfire is a 'stunning' car. i haven't seen it or really heard a lot about it. thanks for the link to the article.

karmann designed the c coupe convertible if i remember correctly right???

so it cant be all bad.

It does and has shiped in the SKL320 for over a year. The argument I have heard as to why it is not in the W203 sedans is that the tranny cannot handle the mass of the car and the subsequent increase stress on the tranny. Hmmmmm. I seriously doubt the 300 additional lbs. from and SLK to a C320 would push it over the edge. Besides, isn't the capacity simply a factor of torque delivered from the engine?

I think this is clearly a case of engineering (not) brought to you through the marketing department.
