C230K Center Console Rattle/Squeeks
Hello all,
I have a 2002 C230K and noticed that the center console (around the shifter) has rattled and squeeked intermittently from day one.
Could this be an issue with the shifter rubbing against the aluminum console trim? Any luck with a solution out there?

Are you sure it's the console? I had squeeks that turned out to be the plastic seat belt buckles rubbing against the plastic console.
Next time you're driving, put a dry washcloth (any cloth, really) between the buckle and the console and listen for the squeeks. If none, then it's the buckle problem described above.
A piece of black velcro (loop side) attached to the buckle between it and the console solves the problem.
