does anyone know if the mercedes dealerships will install aftermarket head unit cd players? i would install if myself but im afraid of losing steering wheel controls and what not. i would take it to car toys but i just trust the dealermore with my car

That looks like a very nice headunit, but no matter who installs it, you will lose the steering wheel controls.

Maybe you will want to look at Alpine. Their was a thread a while back that showed an Alpine with adapter that would let you keep your steering wheel controls.
Otherwise Lynn is correct.

I think MB will not install aftermarket stuff for their customers. No matter is a set of Brabus wheels or an aftermarket CD changer. They do not want to take the liability. And please dont think MB techs are more trustworthy, in fact, there are only a couple in a dealership that are real good. Most techs do more or less the same thing everyday....oil change, check brakes, etc....If you ask them to put some aftemarket parts on yr car, they are not very good at it.

Better find a reputable stereo shop to do the installation.
