Key got stuck in ignition!
Early this morning when I was half asleep I went to startup my car. Somehow, I got the key stuck so that I couldn’t start the car and I couldn’t take the key out, it was stuck in maybe position 1. I couldn't move it forward or backward. After a few minutes of jiggling the key it released and I was able to get it out. I put it back in and startup just fine. I started numerous times and it hasn’t done anything strange since. I never got any key error messages and the key itself looks perfect.. no plastic chips or scratches as I don't keep it on a key chain.
My question is was this incident due to the switch starting to fail mechanically or was it driver error (not correctly inserting and turning the key). Has anyone else had this happen?

I find it tough to remove the key every time I remove it lol...
It sort of locks in there, I'm afraid I'm going to break it removing it.
I'm more afraid of someone else removing it, and breaking it haha...
My key gets up, I can't get it out, I can't get it out, it's up...I can't get it out....

Check your battery voltage!
a low battery, 12.5v or lower can do things like this...check it at the battery with a voltmeter...then monitor it with the "secret dash menu" after you baseline the health of the battery...12.6-12.8 after sitting overnight.

Didn't have the key getting stuck thing happen to me personally, but I can attest to a whole bunch of weird issues happening when it was cold outside a few years back. In my case it was a failed voltage regulator. I also replaced the battery.
