Alignment data, 2002 C230K...

For those that are interested, here is the alignment specs for a 2002 C230K (and my results).

My car has been lowered with Vogtland springs and #4 pads in the rear.

If I were to guess, I would say yes... but I don't know for sure.

Fast Cars!
i am going to have my car alligned next week because my car has almost 5,000 miles and the rear tires are almost bald on the inside.

is this the way its supose to be? if i print this and bring it with to have the car alligned will that help? or no if my car may be a little lower since i have #1 pads in the rear.

You don't need to bring this with you. The alignment machine will have all the specs for your car.

Left = Before

Right = after

As you can see by this, even with my Vogtland springs the rear is within spec and the front is slightly out. The results are much closer than I expected. The dealer claims that both the camber and caster can be adjusted with the crash bolt, for a about $250. I said no thank you.

Maybe I'n not reading it right, but why don't your right and left wheels have the same readings, at least after adjustment? By the way, can you tell if it drives better after alignment?

thanks

I don't think they could get them exactly the same, but it doesn't matter to me, the car drives fine. It drove fine before the alignment, I just did it to see how far out of spec it would be after the new springs.

KWiK, did your ever have it aligned before you installed the springs? That would really tell how far the springs took it out of alignment since it may have been slightly out of alignment from the factory to begin with. On a similar subject, how much did you have to compress the rear spings to get them out

thats the problem, when i had my car alligned he said all that was in the computer was trhe settings for the W202 so he said its the same. so he did it. That could explain why my tires are so f*cked up now.

No, I never had it aligned before the spring install. What it was set at from the factory doesn't really matter. I'm assuming that the car is delivered within spec. Since my original tires wore evenly I suspect the alignment was OK.

You really need to go to a better alignment shop. The car has been available in the US for over a year now, any decent shop should have updated the equipment by now.

If you look at the bottom of my pic, it shows the machine and software version that was used
