Determine engine BHP

Hi

I've just recently purchased a 2005 registered C220 CDI.

It is the facelifted model, and I really like it. I'm trying to work out if the engine is the 150Bhp or the 143. I keep reading contradictory articles and seem to struggle to get an answer.

Is there anyway to look at the engine to know, or a serial number I can track down to find out.

The engine model number has been mentioned to me before as a way to tell, mine begins 646.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks
Bob

Your dealer can put your VIN into the factory data system and print you a list of all components on you car when it left the works. It will tell you which version of that diesel dog you have, and the hp in your country.

C220 CDI
thanks Moviela.

Its easy to mock the diesel, but if you lived in Europe, you'd understand. Petrol is just way to much money. :-)
