Where in my car could I hide aftermarket electronics?

I am looking for where the previous owner would have installed the electronic control box for an after market (HCB-30 SonyEricsson) bluetooth phone system. I have a 2004 C320 wagon with Bose. The control panel is mounted next to the shifter on the console. Is there room under the console for such a device? I have to imagine it's somewhere in the front.

How to disassemble console?

I guess I'd start by taking apart the console, that's where the controller wire disappears. I was hoping to get by without having to disassemble more then necessary, because I don't know where/how to start taking it apart, (hidden fasteners, no manual, yet). Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Lloyd

there's a sticky on this forum on how to take apart your console. Not difficult.

It's most likely under a metal panel under the carpet where your front passenger places their feet.
