Drivers Side Mirror and Steering Column Issues

Drivers Side Mirror and Steering Column Issues
I have multiple problems. The first is that my drivers side outside mirror won't move with the electronic controls. I have to roll down my window and manually move it into position. The passenger side works fine so at least I know the controls are working fine. Before it completely stopped working the mirror would move on its own often times all the way out to the left or all the way down. Now nothing happens. Any suggestions?
The second issue is my steering column. It moves electronically in and out but will not move up and down anymore. If I try to move it up and down with the electronic control I can hear it trying to move but nothing happens. I've read that this could be an issue with the gears. Is this true and if so has anyone tried to fix this?
If you've had issues with either and fixed them or had them fixed let me know what you did and how much it cost.
