Yes of course it works with U.S. maps. Why else would people get it?

Btw, I got mine done by Steve yesterday as well. Good thing I got a hold of him before he left town. After seeing him do the install, I would never consider doing it myself.

When are you going to post the instructions? I'm curious how difficult it would be to install it myself.

I just go comand retrofited into by C230 when I was home for thanksgiving, but the person didn't know how to get the Nav screen to appear within the drivers display, can someone list the pages to follow to get to this option so I can try and convince my dealer in NH to do it?

I know the OEM Command cars had an AUX port in glove box. I wonder if a good audio shop could run an AUX port into the ash tray some how? Thats a great place to put on IPod.

Thanks for that. The guy that retrofitted my comand unit put in the aux. port for me in the glove box, I like it more there for an Ipod, I can leave it on the shelf in there with a play list playing and turn it off when I get out of the car, there are no wires in the way etc.

The aux port is used to plug in things like Mp3 players or CD players, using a headphone headphone cable, I forget the technical name for the plug, but it is a male-male cable and you simple take the head phone signal and plug it into that port. I hope this made some sense.

Are you guys all getting your command units from the same place?
I would love to do this, and I'm pretty mechanical. It doesn't seem too much harder than a CD changer install, right?

Quick question for anyone... I currently have the standard tape HU in my 2002 c320 with the changer in the glove (which I think it's BOSE). Will my changer work with the COMAND unit?

Thanks in advance.

Installing a comand unit in a W203 is easy! The last one (#4) took me only 1 hour and another 10 minutes to go through the settings of the comand system.

I also installed one in a W210 last week and am currently installing a comand unit in a W208.

Euro comands DON'T have the weatherband feature and talk to you in YARDS and miles instead of FEET and miles but besides those two minor flaws the euro comands come with a lot features that the US comand doesn;t have.
The euro comand has TV input possibilities, RDS, a list of currently received broadcasting channels of which you can pick one, a britchick and some other features.

I received quiet some mail about comand but haven't had much time to reply all those mails...but will answer every single mail.

greetingz,

The TV feature.

THe TV feature, can anyone document this, provide links, part # pics etc.

This has got me very interested. If I can get the $$, sell off my Audio 10 and my stock Cassette I'd get the Euro Command.

I feel pretty confident about the install, just need to know the specifics about the wiring harness.

All,

I was one of the lucky ones that just got the EURO COMAND installed by MBenzNL (Steve) a few hours ago. He is still "THE MAN". The unit works great so far and installation for him was a piece of cake.

Thanks again Steve!

Now my next project will be the DVD... hehehe
