As a fellow Canadian I'm going to give you the heads up here before you look too foolish. The topic you are discussing has been discussed EXTENSIVELY in numerous other threads dated well before your post. I find it incredible that you haven't seen them yet, but please stop for a second take a peek at any of the threads untiled "Extra Button Thread" and you will see what everyone is talking about.
What intrigues me about this is what in the world posessed him to squeeze the key hard enough and long enough while coincidentally standing near the hatch to notice it pop open.

i guess i have been away for too long, but i can't figure out why one would need a trunk only button for the key. i did try it, and with lots of pressure i got it to work. but i still don't get the purpose.
