Question.

Why in the UK can we not have the outside temp in place of KM/h. As we only have signs in good old english measures do we need KM/H on the speedo all the time. If i go across the water we could change it back to the euro, as if i was going from the US to Canada. I bet it is another back door Euro measure

 

how come ure display shows km/h ? i'm also from the uk, got a c200k saloon uk car and i changed the km/h setting via the settings menue on the trip computer.

 

In the hand book it now says that UK model cannot change this Mode. Car is 4 weeks old built 12/7/02

That looks really strange. Are you able to read the outside temp at all? If yes, where is it shown?

 

Well portuguese edition read´s outside temperature all time.

 

You should be able to choose which shows up there, temp or speed. Then you can switch over to the opposite in large size using the menu.

 

Off topic, your car is only 4 weeks old and you have over 91 hours and 3400 miles already. Not bad

 

I have 2 comments, I am from Canada, and have changed the outside temp to KM/H in that corner using the settings screen, I can't believe the computer is actually programmed different for your car, I bet its the country setting, ask your dealer to change your car to Canada instead of UK. I believe all the MB run the same code programmed into the computer, so it should just be a simple reprogram of an option.

Second, I notice fuel is in MPG but you have KM/H displayed. When I change the instrument panel from Miles to Kms all values change, including that dispay in the corner, so having both MPG and KM/H displayed would be impossible on a Canadian C-class.

I don't know your reasons for outside temp displayed, but you know the screen that shows Outside Temp in the middle guge, and KM/H in the corner, when you switch them, that screen switches, BUT I'd love to have the KM/H always in the corner AND have the screen with the KM/H in the middle, I prefer the huge digital readout when I am cruising the highway, but am stuck with ouside temp in the corner if I want that... doubt there's a way around this.
