I don't see why this is a issue. If you fork over the money for your new headlights and want to protect your investment so you can sleep at night, then go right ahead! I'm sure this is going to be one of the more opinionated topics, so let me give you mine- My car is 2 years old now, no protection on the lens what-so-ever.. there are also NO scratches; what-so-ever. So in conclusion, I would say- waste of money!

I put the lens protection film on when Iput the bi-xenon lights in. I want to protect my investment. Still clear with no scratches or chips that may have happened if I didn't have the film on it. I have an extra set of film protection for the sedan lights. I think the coupe is a different size though.

I've had mine since I bought my car in '04. Worth the $35-40 just for peace of mind. Covers are still clear...no yellowing on both the headlights and fogs

i added mine to protect my amg fogs. as many people know, if it breaks or cracks, then you can't replace just the lense, and then it is VERY $$ to get the whole new assembly. and i also got lamin-x for my headlights, because i like then and don't care what other people say.

+1. It sure beats the cost of the alternative.
