Tail light help!

Tail light help!
I have a 02 C320, i just replaced the tail lamp bulbs. There seem to be two tail lampsp out. Both are at the bottom to the inside. Are these suppose to be out and if so, what turns them on. The two smaller bulba to the outside I thought were for the fog lamps. I checked and both bulbs are good.

they're not supposed to be on, they are the rear fog lights.
the passenger one NEVER lights by the way
but if u want the driver side one to light
turn your headlight knob all the way to the right (clockwise)
and then pull out two clicks

Help!
I just tried that. all the way to the right and two clicks out. Both bulbs came on and than the passenger one blew. Noe to Autozone. Does any else have a problem with their tail lights blowing often, it seems I replace mine every tree months or so. And thanks for your help KEVBLAH.

Ok, you are right. I just rechecked the bulb and it was not blown. Being everything has a purpose, why is the passenger one there? It required a bulb and i'm sure Mercedes put it there for a reason. Now i'm curious to know what purpose do the passenger bulb (that do not suppose to light) serve?
