DIY Alternator replacement ?




Or perhaps lean over someone's shoulder while doing it?
There's a rumor that it's neccessary to remove the Supercharger to
get to the alt.
Is this true?
I've searched and found nada.
And I went through the entire service DVD and not a word about r&R
on the alternator!
Someone must have done this?
I need to know, as if it is necessary to remove the SC, that gonna take awhile.
(and again, I'll likely want to do a rebuild at the same time on both)




As it so happens, I've found the pn for regulator/brush module for our cars.
You need to look at your Alt. (usually from under the car)
determine if it's Valeo or Bosch.
I have Valeo- A0031541706
Bosch-A0031545306
It's about 100 bucks.
Likely the only thing that would ever be wrong with the alternator.
We'll see if I can get replace it without removing the alternator.
There was another Bosch #, but it was superceded by the one above.
