help with spring install needed!!!!

figured my first request for help would go to the experts here:

i just finished doing the front left corner install on a used set of lowering springs i picked up dirt cheap. i just reviewed the video how to posted here on the boards, and i did everything that the video showed. only problem is the car sits exactly as before!!!!!!!!!!

i double checked to see that the top hat was seated properly...
everything went back together exactly as it came apart..
anyone explain????!!!! i have been beatin my head against the wall all night..
do i need different spring pads? shouldn't i expect more than a 1/4"?
just to make sure i didn't get duped, i took my factory spring and cut a coil and a half off it, put it back in, and the same thing!!!!!

i am very experienced in lowering vehicles...hell, i body-dropped my last mini truck myself with some guidance from an airbag shop....but this one has me stumped...
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

are you sure you have lowering springs because you might just have springs for the stock look. it helps to post what kind of springs you have.

It's entirely possible if you bought springs for the C320 and installed them on the C230 (about 50lbs lighter on the front end).

I installed the AMG C32 springs/shocks on my C230 and the drop was exactly the same as stock, but the ride was much firmer and cornering was much improved.

C230 coupe, nothing special :)
hmm

What brand springs are they? You may want to check your shocks. There could be a depression issue with them. If you cut half a coil out of you old ones and still no drop I would suggest that you have a shock problem.
