Brake dust

Hi ya'll

I read in an older thread that a lot of you are using "Slimply Green" or something like that (couldnt find thread with my keywords and spelling ) that can be found at K-mart and the like.

Now that you have used it for a while can you please share your experience: how well it works, other brands better, etc.

Thanx a bunch.

sorry amdeutsch, this doesn't answer your question.

i just have a quick question too that relates to brake dust.

i noticed that on my new C7 C230, that the wheels are nice and slick and i can just wipe the brake dust off with my finger. is this a coating on the wheels or something (are all alloy wheels like this), and will it wear off over time? sorry, i've just never had nice wheels before.

I think the cleaner you are referring to is Simple Green. It is a fairly mild cleaner that should be ok on your wheels. Simple Green is an excellent, non-toxic, multi-purpose household cleaner.

You wheels feel shiny and slick right now because they do have a coating on them: Paint! And, its new paint, so its smooth and shiny. If you don't keep them waxed, they won't feel that way 6 months from now.
