Kleemann header, cat, and dp installed today and thought I'd post some pics after a complete "break-in"... after a long cruise.

The brackets are on backorder. I picked up the airbag sensor from the dealer though.

Assuming the airbag sensor is the sensor for your passenger seat, how much didja get the airbag sensor for? Whats the part number for it too?

The p/n for the sensor is 203 821 62 51. I decided if I were to ever swap back to the stock seats then I would prefer an intact seat. The dealer wanted $270 CDN retail and $190 CDN wholesale.

Seats and hardware came to $2500 CDN. Add the airbag sensor and I'm still under 3g. I think it's acceptable for starter seats. I just want to get a feel first and will more than likely dump these for some Recaro's later. Leather is over rated.

Yeah, I agree. My Recaro was about $1100 total, so that's about in line for two seats.

MK - if it's anything like my Recaro install was, it's a piece of cake; it came together like a model; remove rails, attach to bracket, attach bracket to seat, and put back in car. Was very simple.

haha ok.... it seems to be less invasive than putting leather into my car, so i'm anxious to see how infected's seats turn out

It depends on how you want to handle the passenger seat, if you get one (I'm one of the offensive one-Recaro-owning coupes, I guess) - I was told by the place I bought my Recaro from that there's a resistor they make (I am assuming that your airbag would always be armed and loaded if you went that route) for under $100. Seems like a better road to go down than what infected did, imho. Besides, I'm not sure how well the OEM sensor would integrate into a seat that's not designed for it. For example, would the foam/seat material have the necessary sensitivity to send the correct signal to the sensor? Seems like more trouble than it's worth to me.

The airbag sensor is basically like the buttons on your TV remote and only needs a little pressure to be activated. Everything is trial and error right now but I'm confident I'll find a way to fit the airbag sensor into the Sparco. I thought about the resistor from Recaro but if I can get the seat working like factory then why not? It's all a guessing game at this moment and all I can do is wait until everything comes so I can start testing. If the "passanger airbag off" light remains on even when I have a passanger then I may have to contact Recaro for their resistor. Another concern I have is whether the Sparco brackets will fit my 03 Coupe. IIRC CoupeCrazy went through TWO brackets from Recaro because the first set they sent him was for an 02. I'm not exactly sure why MB designed two different seat brackets for the same seat in the same car or if aftermarket sidemount brackets will be different than bottommount brackets?
Now we play the waiting game...

Everything is here but the base. They're special order so it should only be a little longer before they come in.
