Q: Mercedes-Benz high mileage badges
Does Mercedes-Benz still give out the high mileage badges that they used to? I mean the little round enameled crests that used to be mounted on the grille, that said 150,000 miles or 250,000 km, etc...?
I saw a 300 D a week ago that had a 250,000 km crest on it (the odometer read 398,000 km).
I think that was a nice program - even if you declined to keep the badge on the car, it was still a nice token.
Does anyone know?

Good Question, Mike. I was wondering the same thing several weeks ago. I hope someone chimes in with some info... I intend to keep my car long enough to qualify for some of this. I think you keep your cars awhile, too, right?

i never directly asked, but one of the dealerships near me has them at their store. so i assume they're still available.

yes they do. i had a 250,000km badge on my 1983 300CD (applied for the badge in 1992), and a 250,000km badge on my 1987 300D (applied for the badge in 1999). just contact MBNA, tell them you want the application for high mileage badge and they will send it to you. it doesnt matter if your the original owner or the 100th owner, just as long as you provide the VIN, Engine #, and a couple of other things. they send out the badge, a certificate and some other goodies. ive never heard of a 150000km badge, but i know they have the 250,000km; 500,000km; and 1,000,000km badges.

VOlvo also has this program but there is real incentive to go along with the badge. I believe Volvo give discount on parts and services there after. Begins with 20% off or more based on the mileage recorded.
I have seen a Volvo with 400K miles badge. I expect to see a Benz with 1M miles

MBUSA (used to be MBNA) used to do a 150,000km badge, but had to give too many out! So now they only have 250,000km, 500,000km and 1,000,000km. I have a 250k badge on my 83 300D-Turbo.
